Auction To Benefit Northeast Seafood Coalition - Feb 28th

Guilford, CT - February 21st, 2009

Painting to be auctioned at Northeast Seafood Coalition's Annual Fundraiser The Northeast Seafood Coalition is having it's annual fundraiser on Saturday February 28th in Gloucester Mass. My painting "Head of the Harbor" (18" x 24" - oil on canvas) will be auctioned to the highest bidder. Proceeds benefit the Northeast Commercial Fishing Industry which is under attack from all sides these days. These are real people who earn their living from the sea and are under attack from factory boats and government regulations among other things. If you would like to help or participate in the auction, call the Coalition's main office at 978-283-9992 for more info.

2 Paintings In The Current Lyme Art Association Show

Guilford, CT - February 8th, 2009

The 17th annual Lyme Art Association - Associate Member Show is currently hanging at the venerable gallery in Old Lyme Connecticut. I have two oil landscapes hanging in the show. View to Lane's Cove (18" x 24") is a somber vista across rooftops and down to the landing at Lane's Cove. A storm has just pulled off to the northeast. Cranes Beach and Hog Island in Ipswich can be seen in the distance. The second, a smaller work (12" x 16") is a sunny, cold morning reminding one of the fleetingness of summer and the work to be done for the upcoming winter. A red barn sits aglow on the hilltop, above meandering fields and drives. Large hemlocks, orange in hue point skyward towards the architecture atop the hillock. Aptly named, At The West Gloucester Line. The show runs through the end of February. Please check the association website for more information and gallery hours.
